About the Position

Diskover Data’s customers are responsible for managing large amounts of data and the full-stack web developers at Diskover Data build simple and beautiful user experiences to make this job easy. In this role, you will work closely with the lead software engineer to show customers the information needed to understand their unstructured data. You will also build components to ensure a polished and consistent user experience throughout the product.

• Improve the foundations of our UI with more and better components.
• Drive improvements and instill the right practices.
• Grow your skills beyond the web application by working with other areas of Diskover software.

Responsibilities

• Integrate with Diskover Data team to create a great user experience by building simple, lovable and complete UI using PHP and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with software engineers to deliver user-facing products.
• Design front end systems that are testable and maintainable.
• Share and teach what good front-end code looks like across our engineering team. Learn new techniques and methodologies and introduce them to the team to continuously improve.
• Ability to work incrementally and collaboratively in an Agile development process.

Qualifications

• At least three years of demonstrated ability in a software development role including two years experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, etc.
• Facility with JavaScript or TypeScript and jQuery.
• Facility with databases such as MySql, SQLite, MongoDB, etc.
• Proficiency in concepts such as asynchronous programming, promises, and closures.
• Ability to build a user-centric experience through collaboration with internal/external customers.
• Proficiency in software testing, including challenges specific to testing front-end code.
• Experience using computer science fundamentals including algorithms and data structures.
• Ideally some experience with Python and Elasticsearch.
